Terance Frazier is running for the State Center Community College District Board of Trustees to fight for Central Valley students.

Born and raised in Oakland by a single mother, Terance experienced homelessness as a young man before baseball, and the coaches and mentors who came with it, opened the door to a college education. That opportunity led him to Fresno State, where he earned his degree while helping lead the Bulldogs to three championship seasons before playing professional baseball in the Oakland Athletics organization.

For more than 30 years, Terance has invested in the Central Valley as a business owner, developer, educator, and mentor. He has rehabilitated distressed neighborhoods, developed affordable housing, revitalized Granite Park into a thriving community asset, and founded the Central Cal Baseball Academy, a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring young people through academics, athletics, and community service.

Terance's commitment to higher education goes beyond advocacy. He served as an adjunct faculty member within the State Center Community College District, served on the SCCCD Foundation Board and its Executive Committee, and donated the land that made the West Fresno Community College Center possible, helping bring higher education directly into one of Fresno's most underserved neighborhoods.

Terance is running because he believes every student, regardless of income, zip code, or circumstance, deserves the same opportunity that changed his life. He will work to strengthen workforce training, expand pathways to four year universities and good paying careers, invest in underserved communities, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely to put students first.

His life has been defined by creating opportunity. Now, he's ready to help create it for the next generation of Central Valley students.

Issues

STUDENT SUCCESS AND COMPLETION

Expand access, support services, and pathways so every student can finish what they start, whether that's a degree, a certificate, or a transfer to a four year university.

CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION

Strengthen career technical education and partnerships with local employers so State Center graduates can build careers right here in the Valley.

COMMUNITY INVESTMENT

Bring programs, facilities, and investment to the neighborhoods that have too often been left behind.

FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Demand accountability and transparency, ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely in the classroom and on students, not bureaucracy.
